Soy Garlic Chicken is crispy, double-fried chicken coated in a savory-sweet soy and garlic glaze. It’s a crowd-pleaser with bold flavor and a perfect balance of salty and sweet!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Marinate the chicken with rice wine, grated ginger, grated garlic, salt, and pepper. Let it sit for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  2. Coat the marinated chicken in egg, flour, and cornstarch.
  3. Heat neutral oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry the chicken for 7–8 minutes. Drain on a wire rack or paper towel-lined tray, and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  4. In a pan, melt the butter and add the remaining glaze ingredients. Simmer until the mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
  5. Heat the oil to 375°F (190°C) and fry the chicken again for about 2–3 minutes, or until fully cooked through. Allow to rest again on a rack.
  6. Toss the fried chicken in the soy garlic glaze and garnish with toasted sesame seeds. Serve immediately and enjoy!
